JRC is proud to announce the award of a new contract supporting Navy Strategic Systems Programs (SSP). JRC competed for and won the five-year, Total Small Business Set-Aside for Engineering, Planning, Analytical, Administrative and Technical Support Services for Nuclear Weapons Security (NWS) Research and Development, NWS Program Technical Support, Security and Facility Technical Support, PMO SWS/NWS Support, and Navy Nuclear Deterrence Mission Support (N00030-16-C-0020). The $28,542,516 contract Period of Performance extends to March 2021, if the Government exercises all options.
“We are extremely proud of this accomplishment,” said JRC’s Founder and President, Dr. Tony Jimenez. “Scott Randall, VP for Maritime and Security Programs, and his team demonstrated the unique capabilities and value that JRC can deliver, and SSP selected JRC in this competitive acquisition.”
Navy SSP is responsible for the TRIDENT II Strategic Weapons System (SWS), which is the primary strategic deterrent for both the US and the UK. This responsibility includes being the Technical Program Manager for NWS. SSP is responsible for security and safety of nuclear weapons while in US Navy custody (e.g., at Strategic Weapons Facilities (SWFs), weapons storage facilities, and on board submarines). SSP is leading DoD efforts to improve NWS, and the Navy NWS Roadmap will be used as the basis for the DoD NWS Roadmap.
JRC will immediately begin supporting SSP’s NWS requirements under the contract. “This new contract is a significant step in JRC’s growth and responsibility to the program. We have made our name with our technical expertise supporting SSP. We will continue to prove ourselves as a prime contractor supporting SSP,” said JRC’s VP for Maritime and Security Programs, Scott Randall.
