On 22 February 2024, JRC was presented The Outstanding STEM Support Award by The Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers at the annual Huntsville Engineers Week (E-Week) Awards Banquet. The IEE is a global organization that aims to revolutionize technology and make significant contributions to improving global conditions, while also becoming an essential part of the global technical community.

This annual event celebrates the achievements of professional engineers, outstanding engineering students and faculty, educational institutions, and local industry partners. The theme for this year's banquet was “Welcome to the Future: Inspiring the Next Generation of Innovators." The event gathers technical societies in Huntsville, Alabama, where they honor their own and establish connections with other societies. It is an internationally recognized event promoting the field of engineering, particularly among the youth. The banquet is coordinated with the DiscoverE Engineers Week celebration, and this year, the event featured a keynote speech from Mr. Richard Haworth, a local FBI employee.

During the event, The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) awarded Gayla Suddarth, JRC Senior Proposal Management Specialist, as The Outstanding Engineer of the Year. This prestigious award recognized Gayla's exceptional work ethic and contributions in STEM outreach activities across North Alabama.
